  Professor Song Guangcheng is mainly engaged in the research of petrochemical industry. He is one of the pioneers and founders of the subject of static electricity in petrochemical industry in China. He has a deep attainments in the field of static electricity in petrochemical industry. He has been responsible for the preparation of 8 compulsory national regulations on petroleum static electricity, including code for construction and acceptance of electrostatic conductive coatings for petroleum tanks, technical indicators of electrostatic conductive coatings for petroleum tanks, method for determination of resistivity of electrostatic conductive coatings for petroleum tanks, safety code for petroleum static electricity, safety code for Petroleum lightning, safety value of conductivity of light oil products. For example, in order to comply with the national standards such as gb13348-1992 safety code for electrostatic discharge of liquid petroleum products, gb16906-1997 determination of resistivity of electrostatic conductive coatings for petroleum tanks and GB 6950-2001 safe static conductivity of light oil products, YFT type resistivity tester for oil resistant and anticorrosive coatings has been developed, which has passed the official national appraisal and has been guided by gb16906 petroleum tanks The national standard "electrostatic resistivity measurement method" is the only testing instrument designated for use.
